Raw material quality control

 

The manufacturing process of high-quality mountain bikes is actually very complicated. Depending on the material and shape of the frame, different raw materials will be used for design.

Take aluminum alloy frames as an example. The quality control of the raw materials of aluminum alloy frames is crucial to ensure the performance, strength and durability of aluminum alloy frames. Aluminum alloy frames are widely used in bicycles, motorcycles, electric bicycles and automobiles. Its light weight, high strength and corrosion resistance make aluminum alloy an important material for the frames of many vehicles. Effective quality control measures can prevent material defects, improve the quality of finished products and extend the service life.

Normally, aluminum alloy frames mostly use 6061 or 7005 series because these two materials have good strength and durability. Our mountain bike frame manufacturer will conduct strict indoor and chemical performance tests on aluminum alloy raw materials to ensure that they meet the requirements of frame manufacturing.

Chemical composition analysis

The chemical composition of aluminum alloy is checked through spectral analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis and other means to ensure that the alloy proportion meets the design requirements.

Mechanical properties test

Such as tensile tests and hardness tests, to ensure that the tensile strength, yield strength, ductility, etc. of the aluminum alloy meet the frame design requirements.

Surface quality inspection

Inspection of surface finish and defects (such as cracks, bubbles, scratches, etc.) is crucial. Material surface defects will affect subsequent processing and the appearance and performance of the frame.

Thickness uniformity inspection

Especially for aluminum alloy plates, the thickness uniformity should be checked by ultrasonic testing and other methods to avoid stress concentration caused by uneven material thickness.

 

 Regarding high carbon steel frames, the hardness, strength and toughness of the steel need to be strictly tested to avoid using materials containing impurities or improper annealing.

 

 The requirements for carbon fiber frames are higher. The carbon fiber weaving process and resin impregnation quality need to pass strict testing to avoid problems such as bubbles and fiber breakage.

 

Production process quality control

The design of the frame needs to consider factors such as ergonomics, aerodynamics, strength and weight. After the frame is designed, fatigue test simulation is required to ensure the stability of the frame during long-term use.

 

The key link in the quality control of the whole mountain bike assembly is that the combination of all parts needs to be accurately connected according to the design requirements. Tianjin Panda Group's bicycle production factory employs senior employees with at least 5 years of bicycle assembly experience to ensure that each part can be installed in place to avoid looseness or missing.

During the assembly process, each assembly worker has his own duties and is responsible for a specific assembly part. The assembly line operation improves the overall assembly efficiency to ensure the timely production and delivery of orders.

International trade of mountain bikes usually requires cross-border transportation. Therefore, the quality of packaging directly affects the safety during transportation and the end-consumer experience. Quality control plays a vital role in this process, ensuring that the bikes are not damaged during the entire transportation chain. In addition, good packaging can also enhance the brand image and reduce after-sales problems such as returns and exchanges.

 

Selection of packaging materials: The selection of packaging materials is directly related to the protective performance. The packaging materials commonly used by Tianjin Panda Group's factories include foam, bubble film, five-layer corrugated boxes, etc. The use of these materials can provide sufficient buffering capacity during the transportation of bicycles to prevent the bicycles from being hit or squeezed during transportation.
